Gartner has announced it is acquiring AMR Research for US$64M.  There have been rumors for years that AMR would be acquired but most thought it would be Forrester that eventually acquired them.

A Supply Chain Play
AMR's domain expertise in Supply Chain is a nice tuck-in for Gartner.  There will be some overlap with AMR's Enterprise Applications Strategies and Market Services offerings.  AMR has been running lean so hopefully my former colleagues at AMR will all have a soft landing as AMR is brought into the fold at Gartner.   I wish them all the best.
